Delivering food was easy.
Bookkeeping was the nightmare.
In 2020, I launched ClickClick, a Chinese food delivery platform in Saskatoon, Canada.
Dozens of orders daily, paid via credit card, debit, WeChat Pay, Alipay, E-transfer, cash — seven or eight payment methods. Each $59.92 order had to be split into restaurant payables, delivery fees, platform fees, GST, PST...
On top of that, we partnered with multiple restaurants, each with different settlement cycles and methods. Some were revenue, others were collected-on-behalf temporary liabilities. CRA requires GST and PST to be recorded and filed separately.

As someone who’s been writing code for 20+ years, I decided to solve this myself.
BeanFlow was born from a real pain point: financial management for Canadian small businesses should not be this hard or this expensive.
The Journey
Enterprise Software
Shanghai → Tokyo → IBM Global Delivery Center
After graduating, joined Japan-outsourcing software development in Shanghai. Built Japanese government policing systems, parking management systems, and other large-scale projects. Stationed in Japan for approximately one year.
Later joined IBM Global Delivery Center (Shanghai), working on Suzuki automotive inventory management and TEPCO (Tokyo Electric Power) reporting systems.
Six years forging an obsession with engineering quality and system reliability — this is why BeanFlow Payroll passes 2,600+ official CRA test cases.
Product Management
ValueClick (NASDAQ) · Shanghai
Joined NASDAQ-listed internet company ValueClick (later renamed Conversant, now part of Bread Financial) Shanghai office as Product Manager.
Led comparison shopping product lines for Japan and Korea. Collaborated with US headquarters to define product direction through data-driven decision making.
Learned to think from the user's and business perspective — not just the technical one. This experience directly shaped BeanFlow's product design philosophy.

Chinese food delivery platform serving Saskatoon and Regina, encompassing user app, merchant management, and rider app — three complete systems. This experience directly led to BeanFlow.
